Ok, Friday got away from me… so just pretend its Friday…
The New York Times is a gold mine for visual “infographics” and at the end of the summer they packaged many of their visuals for teachers to use… here is their list of Social Studies, History, and Economics visuals:
I have not played with them all but did try out the “Immigration Explorer” which I know might be helpful for 6th grade social studies teachers. It shows how different groups settled around the USA and could lead to some interesting discussions… like why have so many Africans settled in Minnesota? It is also interesting to note how many groups tend to “flock together”.
